Attire & Gear/Mat Etiquette
Practice = athletic/comfortable shirt & shoes/pants. No zippers or strings.
Duals & Tournaments = TEAM Uniform (team shirt & shorts, issued/specific singlet, and warm-ups)
Additional required items = Wrestling Shoes & Headgear
We do have a shoe and headgear bin from which wrestlers can borrow. This is first come first served.
**No street shoes on the mat. No wrestling shoes on the street. Water only around the mat.
Competitions
We participate in the OSAA (Oregon Schools Athletic Association) 5A Division. Our Boys Team is in the 5A-2 Greater Metro Conference, and our Girls Team is in the 5A Special District 1.
We usually have a Dual Meet during the week (typically Wed or Thurs) and tournament on the weekend (typically Fri and/or Sat).

Youth (K-8th) Registration
Cost
Registration fee : $150, includes gear (team t-shirt, shorts & issued singlet), and USA Wrestling card.

Practice

K-4th = Tuesday & Thursday 6:15pm-7:45pm
5th-8th = Mondays & Wednesdays 6:15pm-8:15pm

Tournament = TEAM Uniform (team shirt & shorts, issued/specific singlet. Headgear is optional for league tournaments. Middle School will be required to wear Headgear at MS Regionals and State.

Tournaments
We mainly participate in the Metro Youth Wrestling League. This consists of school feeder clubs in the surrounding west-side of the Portland Metro area. Most of the tournaments are on Sundays, starting the first of December and going until mid-February.
Our Middle School will have MS Regionals & MS State in early-March.
Typical Tournament Day
Arrive & find Falcon zone, Wrestler check-in (& weigh-in, if needed), then join in on team warm-ups.
Staging: wrestlers get called to their bracket group and are given the mat #. Watch for wrestlers turn!
K-4th = 3x 1min round with 30sec in-between, 5-8th= 3x 1min 30sec with 30 sec in-between.
Bracketed by Grade, Weight & Experience
Ideally 4-person brackets, weight within 10% of each other.
Grade levels: PK/K, 1/2, 3/4, 5/6, 7/8
Girls-only brackets, if there are enough participants
Experience/Card System: White = Beginner, Yellow = Intermediate, Blue = Advanced
Levels are determined by Head Coach & match results.
